Happy Easter 2014!

"Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again!"

It has been a such a beautiful weekend--Saturday we were fortunate to spend some time with Kristofor and Lauryn at the Loveless Cafe, did a little shopping at Opry Mills, and had a nice little Easter dinner with Kelsie. The Lord is so good to me!

*In case you're interested, my pink dress is from Cato's and the creamy dress is from Ross.

What I'm Pinning Lately...

It's no secret that I love Pinterest; besides, what woman doesn't love clicking on just "one last pin" only to discover that they've pinned right through making dinner and their an hour long episode of their favorite show? Anyhow, here are a few things I'm loving right now--maybe it's just me, but it looks like I need more blue in life....
Spring Stripes - Penny Pincher Fashion TRANSITION / THE LITTLE KIDS SHARED ROOM - BLEUBIRD--I really love the simplicity of the photos and the similar editing style Rock Necklaces: A variation on the age-old nature necklace, these wire-wrapped pendants are fun for kids to trade. Some girls paint their names on one side and their best friend's on the other, and wear them as a proclamation of their unbreakable bond.Bluetique Cheap Chic » That royal blue with the lace is perfect! Little braids into a big messy braid. Navy midi skirt, grey tee, printed scarf, gladiator sandals--oh that skirt! Love the vest with a fancy necklace!

Getting Dressed

As much as I loves clothes, sometimes I really despise getting dressed. So many times, I feel like I'm dressing for other people rather than myself and it makes me take pause. Sadly, I covet that all-too-familiar phrase, "You look so cute today" and it drives me keep making up outfits to please others. Trends come and go and I hate that I still get sucked in with the masses. I am at an age where I should be coming into my own sense of style; my identity should be partially evident in the clothing I choose but it's not. I am all. over. the. place. Honestly, to some extent, that does describe my current mental state; I have no idea what happens after we leave this place we've called home, I don't know if I'm walking the right career path, and I also want to start a family. One day I'm cheerful, youthful, and bright. The next, it's black dresses, chunky sweaters, and boots. Is it bad that I can't make up my mind when it comes to a "style?" Should I even be worried about this in my later 20's?

If were brutally truthful here, I'd stay in my pajamas all day. With a bun. Unless someone had to see me, then it's mascara and faux leather all the way.

Ridiculously Stylish Littles

Sooo I don't have a kid. And I won't have a kid for some time. However, that does not stop me from wasting spending countless hours looking at stylish children on Pinterest. I've slowly been transforming the hubs into a fashion "liker" so the kids shouldn't be a problem. Here are a few of my very favorites at the moment:

Valentine's Day Looks with Polyvore

It's Valentine's Day and my sister asked me to come up with an article for String of Pearls. After perusing Pinterest for some inspiration, I came up with three Valentine's Day looks with the help of Polyvore. Check out my looks for Class, Date Night, or a Girl's Night Out.

The Hubby and I will probably spend the night in making homemade cards for each other--we did that on our first married Valentine's and I think it would be fun tradition to carry on! What do you and your special someone like to do for Valentine's Day?

Memphis Zoo and Barbecue

Helping our sweet friends Eric and Sarah move to Nashville--we're sad to see them go!

Central BBQ--Voted #1 10 since 2003! Look at that tasty brisket and mac'n'cheese--be still my heart!

Touching the Sting Rays for the first time--Unbelieveable!

Understandably freaked out--I actually squealed out loud...and people stared at me....

Can you believe this?! Sharks! Shark I tell you!

The hubby's favorite animal--he often acts like a dragon himself!

I'd like to thank Turbo Fire for my sweet side kick!
Happy Buddha--bellies were definitely rubbed for good luck!

Look at these guys chowing down! Can you believe that giraffe is 5 months old!

Yes, he's doing what you think he's doing....

Angst much?

For some reason, we caught all the animals relieving themselves or sleeping....it was a hard day!

I have to say, it was really hard saying goodbye to our friends, but driving over to Memphis helped keep our sad feelings at bay. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the Memphis Zoo--it was very large and had an incredible amount of animals. We went on a Sunday afternoon and despite it being a gorgeous day, it wasn't crowded!

Can you believe those Sting Rays and Sharks?! I've never been the type to reach out and touch things(or get dirty for that matter) but this was too good to pass up! They were sort of slimy and sometimes they would glide along the water in such a way that they'd splash everyone around the edge of the pool--show boaters!

We are so blessed to live between Memphis and Nashville and we really love taking advantage of all they have to offer. Even if it's only for one night, I highly suggest getting away and taking in some place new!
